Things like Dafnas collaging aren't the first of its kind, the Pictorialists in the late 19th century used combination printing to be able to create pictures with equal exposure. Due to how new photography was, it was hard to be able to have equal expose throughout a photograph so they would take separate pictures focusing on each separate part (e.g.; one of the sky, sea, land) and cut them together. Like the original photoshop. Heres an example of two combination prints, the first one is 3 different photos and the second is 50.
